Our Story - Our brands
When holidaying in Thailand in November 2003, Victoria and Mark were unable to find holiday flip flops. This dilemma launched an idea to create a collection of flip flops and sandals that encompassed high quality, comfort and style to suit everyone. The Pomelo label was born, and over 150 shops around the world stocked the brand. An online store was then launched to sell the brand online and other quality brands were sourced to compliment the collections. Featuring on BBC2's 'Working Lunch' and the 'Dragon's Den' the brand went from strength to strength. In 2013 the Pomelo brand and website were sold to a Netherlands-based company. Lovethoseflipflops was launched in the Spring of 2013 to continue the dream that you can find something a little different for your holiday wardrobe whatever the time of year.

Reef began in the 1980's by two Argentine brothers, Fernando and Santiago Aguerre,to support their active lifestyles. Their involvement in the surfing scene led them to open their own surf shop in Argentina and then from Argentina to the San Diego beach community of La Jolla, California. Starting out with $4000, the brothers set out to create what is marketed as the world's best active sandal. Their product became so popular amongst surfers and beach goers that Reef has subsequently grown into one of the world's leading active sandal manufacturer for men and women.
The first pair of Havaianas was born in 1962. It was inspired by the Zori, typical Japanese sandals made of fabric strap sand rice straw soles. It is for this reason that the foot-bed of all Havaianas have a textured rice pattern, one of its many unmistakeable features. Odourless, durable, comfortable and fashionable, no wonder Havaianas are worn by celebrities worldwide and are handed out at the Oscars.
Once, milk was delivered in glass bottles. The milkman was part of the fabric of life, stopping daily on the doorsteps to put the world to rights. Brit-stitch was born when the local milkman needed a cash bag. On his round was Peter Jones, a master leather craftsman who made him one. That was 1967. He brought it recently to have the strap repaired. From that bag grew an idea and that idea is Brit-Stitch. The business Peter Jones started back then is run by the next generation and also the finest talents in the industry who embody the finest leather working craft traditions. Brit-Stitch is about creating bags with heart and soul. Beautiful yet practical, contemporary and proudly British. Soul, tradition and style.
